Father of the Year Joe Simpson took out a life insurance policy on celebrity daughter Jessica Simpson which he kept secret from his family for the last 8 years.

The policy, worth $4.5 million, lists Joe as the sole beneficiary. Jessica and her mother, Tina Simpson, just found out about it last week. A source says they are both “furious” that Joe had done this without them knowing about its existence. The source added,

“Tina found out about yet another one of Joe’s secrets and couldn’t believe what she was hearing.”

The news came out during a meeting with David Levin, the Simpsons‘ business manager, and Tina‘s attorneys last week. Tina is furious that Joe did this without consulting anyone else in the family. This definitely adds to any strain that Joe had already put on the family, and will most certainly set the tone for a very messy divorce.
